NIPPLE & AREOLAR CORRECTION

The nipple forms the focal point of the breast mound and together with the areolar complex forms an integral part of the aesthetics of the female breast.

Nipple-areolar size can be adjusted with surgery, and this may be combined with augmentation surgery to keep the scar to a minimum. Inverted nipples may affect both nipples and may occur after breast-feeding this can be corrected with non-surgical and surgical measures.

Nipple Correction surgery is performed for the following reasons:

  • INVERTED NIPPLES
  • LARGE NIPPLE AREOLAR – COMPLEX (NAC)
  • POST BREAST SURGERY
  • AS PART OF A BREAST RECONSTRUCTION POST MASTECTOMY

THE PROCEDURE

The nipple correction & areola reduction surgery will be illustrated in detail, and you will be given a detailed instruction sheet on expected post-operative course and potential complications during your consultation. It is recommended that you are at a stable weight for at least 3-6 months to obtain the best possible results. It is advised to stop smoking at least 6 weeks before and after nipple correction surgery.
